Back in 2011, while shooting Life of Pi on the beach in the south of Taiwan, we were visited by the legendary photographer, Mary Ellen Mark. In costume and full make-up, I stood for a photo which she happily autographed upon my request.

Little did I know who she was, and it was only much later that I realized that she had photographed legends such as Maya Angelou, Ansel Adams, Marlon Brando, Johnny Cash, Bill Clinton, Federico Fellini and so many more.

Who could have imagined, not only what I had in my possession, but also how lucky I am to have kept it safe all these years. To have stood in front of the same lens as Robert De Niro!!

As a photographer geeking out, forgive my excitement.
